Pioneer Engineering Services, LLC was born from the remarkable journey of four Army veterans who met over 30 years ago in Germany. Gayle, Pete, and Gary were serving with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as officers and “Pioneres,” a term with French and German origins that captures their roles as trailblazers. In fact, Gayle was the first woman allowed to serve in her unit; since that breakthrough, she has continued to grow as an extraordinary leader—serving now as Pioneer’s CEO. Laura completes the dynamic team with a sense of adventure that inspired her military service as an Army “JAG” attorney. Together the four founders bring essential skills, unique expertise, and a deep commitment to helping their clients solve complex problems. 

Their serendipitous meeting was the result of shared dedication to excellence and service. The strong bond they formed went beyond professional ties. Rooted deeply in trust and mutual respect, it laid the foundation for a lasting partnership.

Coloradans are also referred to as Pioneers, those who go before to prepare the way before another. With strong ties to Colorado and experience as forerunners in their respective fields, the founders naturally chose the name “Pioneer Engineering Services” for their new venture.   

Combining their vast and diverse skills and experience, the founding members launched a company designed to partner with a variety of clients who need a trusted teammate focused on delivering innovative and practical engineering solutions. The journey that began in Germany represents their professional success, sense of purpose, commitment to excellence, and an enduring friendship.
